I don't know what made me do it. I didn't even have a story idea before I started writing, only an image of a creepy forest. What's going on in that forest? I wondered. Something dark. Something evil.
So I sat down with my journal, imagined a problem and a hero and started writing. The synopsis has everything except a solution, but those never come easily.
Maybe this synopsis will lead to my next big project (NaNoWriMo?). We'll see!
Oh, cool! Wish I could do that!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great idea! It gives you theoutline you need to figure out what to do when/if you get stuck.
ReplyDeleteMy idea bopped me on the head at about 12:30 at night one night last week. It was exhilarating.
ReplyDeleteExcellent idea, Rebecca. I should do this totally.
ReplyDeleteVery exciting ... what a great feeling!
ReplyDeleteCorey, maybe you should try it! But yours could be a "rule of three" picture book outline instead. Ya never know what you might come up with!
ReplyDeleteAngie, so you have your NaNoWriMo idea and are really gonna go for it? So cool!
You guys should all try this writing backward thing. It was a fascinating exercise!
I am totally going for it, Becky. I have been anticipating this all year. I really want to see what I am made of, ya' know?
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm excited for you!
ReplyDeleteI plan on going all the way this year. No measly 30,000 words for me.
Just kidding. I can hardly believe I wrote that much in just one month!
in LA - they said it was great to try and summarize your book BEFORE you start writing. so I think this is great.
ReplyDeleteShelli--I know! But I never do, so this was a big deal for me.
ReplyDeleteVery cool!
