Okay, guys and gals, head on over to Tara's blog and check out the interview with Corey Rosen Schwartz (a.k.a. my PB-writing partner and author of Hop! Plop!). It's educational. It's amusing! It's a must-read!
I feel like I got to know you a smidgen better than I did before, and Corey, too, of course. I had no idea that you too had never had a face-to-face or even a voice-to-voice.
Angie, Guess what? I am SCARED to talk to Becky by phone. We have such a great online friendship. What if I call her and its awkward? It could ruin everything!
I have promised, however, to call her the second we get a contract. I have told her, "if you hear my voice, start screaming, because I am calling with great news!"
You know, collaborating on rhyming stories might be easier if we could talk, because then Corey's odd meter issues might make sense to me! And the other way around is also true, I'm sure.
This has totally bashed up the image I had in my brain of you two sitting across from each other on the floor by the coffee table. Scribbled and doodled yellow pads are strewn between the lap top cords as you two hash out fun ideas. And now I come to find out that not only do you not live in the same city, nor the same state but you couldn't even recognize each others' laughs to save your skin. Amazing how my imagination runs away with me! :-)
If I had gotten a scholarship for the Highlights writing conference a couple of summers ago, Corey and I could have met then. But I didn't get the scholarship, and so I didn't go.

ReplyDeleteAngie,

It would be fun to write side-by-side.
Thanks for the interview mention. I've got tons more brain-picking to do come this month so stop back soon.
ReplyDeleteThree down, eleven to go!!!!
